Oatmeal Cookies

We were cleaning out our giant roll top desk and guess what we found. My grandparents passports. The roll top desk holds a lot of things but that was one I wasn’t expecting.
As for the cookies, my oven runs hot so I had to turn the oven down from 375 to 350. Also the directions state to add baking soda but there was no specified amount in the ingredients on the card so I added 1 tsp and it worked out pretty well.
I will also say these cookies are a little salty. As my sister in law said “They were a little salty but in a way where it was good like Caramel type salty”. So, if you’re not into that lower the salt to 1/2 tsp.

Oatmeal Cookies

1c butter or margarine
1c white sugar
1c brown sugar
2 eggs
1tsp vanilla
1 1/2c flour
3c oatmeal
1tsp salt (1/2 for less salty)
1 tsp baking soda
1c pecans
3/4c chopped raisins

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla. Combine flour, oatmeal, salt and baking soda then add to butter mixture. Stir in pecans and raisins. Form into small balls or use a 1 inch cookie scoop. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes
