It’s obvious by the state of the card that this recipe is well loved. My in house source says that this cake was a frequent occurrence in my grandmas baking rotation and that she would bring it often to church.
I recommend you make this ASAP. This cake is so friggin good. It’s like crossover between a donut and a coffee cake. 10/10 will be making this again and again.
Fun fact: it took us purchasing and returning two Bundt pans till we found one that wasn’t scratched up
Sock it to me cake
1 pk yellow butter cake mix, unprepared
1c sour cream
1c pecans .
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1c powdered sugar
Grease and flour a Bundt pan (I used a pan release paste I made which is equal parts flour, shortening and oil)
Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon, set aside. Combine cake mix, oil, Vanilla, sugar, eggs and sour cream together. Stir in pecans. Pour half batter into the pan then sprinkle the brown sugar mixture on. Pour in the other half of the batter and bake at 325 for 1 hour. .
Remove cake from pan and glaze while still hot with 1c powdered sugar+2tbs milk. Let cool completely and enjoy!
This recipe has definitely been in my rotation. I made this for Christmas last month and my sister loved it. Admittedly I will sometimes do a double glaze because glaze is life.
