Cracker Candy

Now Let be clear, this recipe is pretty much like every other cracker toffee I’ve made. That being said I messed it up…twice. First time I burnt it then the second time it separated and turned into an oily sugar mess. So after some light research and some lower temperatures I got it right. This just goes to show that no matter how much experience you have in the kitchen there is always something to learn. If you’re unsure about cooking just get your ass in the kitchen, always read the recipe twice and buy extra ingredients incase you mess it up the first or second time

Cracker Candy

Ingredients
1c butter or margarine
1 brown sugar, packed
1-2 sleeves saltine crackers
12oz chocolate chips

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375. Cover a sheet pan with aluminum foil and line with the crackers breaking them apart to fit if needed. In a saucepan over medium heat melt the butter and sugar then bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes stirring constantly. Pour over crackers making sure to spread the mixture evenly. Bake in oven for 5 minutes. Let rest for a few minutes then pour over chocolate chips and rest for a few more minutes before spreading the melted chocolate chips over the toffee evenly. Let cool and place in fridge for 10 minutes to set the chocolate, break apart and enjoy.
